Application Won't Run On Windows 2003 Server

Problem:

When running an application on a GoGlobal client, the cursor goes to a busy cursor and then immediately goes back to normal but nothing happens. The application doesn't load. The server is running Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2003 Server SP1.

Solution:

This issue may be caused by the Data Execution Prevention feature in these versions of Windows.

To resolve this issue, on the GoGlobal server:

1) Right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", then click on the "Advanced Tab".

2) Click on the "Settings" button in the Performance section.

3) Click the "Data Execution Prevention" tab.

4) Select the second radio button that says "Turn on DEP for all Programs and services except those I select." Then, click on the "Add" button and browse for the ACT! executable and add it to the list.

5) Click "Apply" and then "Ok".

6) Reboot the server.
