GOGLOBAL23 HelpDesk Remote CMLink Through GoGlobal
Question:
When running HelpDesk for Goldmine in GoGlobal and using the Remote CM Link, I get a "Could not bind socket or port" error.
Answer:
This issue is caused when the remote CM link is set to autostart each time HelpDesk runs. To resolve this issue, please do the following:
1) Open the remote.ini file from your \HelpDesk3\Client\ directory on your GoGlobal web server.
2) Change the value of the autostart parameter to "false".
3) Create a shortcut to the "rocmlink.exe" file located in \HelpDesk3\Client\
4) Copy this shortcut to the startup folder for all users (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Programs\Startup).
NOTE: The Remote CM Link should ONLY be used if the server operating system is Windows XP Service Pack 2.
