TT_ACTINST ACT! 2007/2008 install tips
TECH TIP:
When installing HelpDesk to connect with ACT! 2005/2006/2007/2008/2009 there are some tech tips to follow to ensure proper installation of your HelpDesk software.
Tech Tips:
1) Ensure ACT! has been installed and run once on the workstation prior to installing HelpDesk. There are specific .dll files that are installed with ACT! for 3rd party application.
2) Ensure you have the correct .Net version installed on the workstation. HelpDesk requires .NET 1 framework. You can download if needed, from the Microsoft web site.
3)In configuration, contact manager, please be sure you browse to the ACT! database to ensure it is a UNC path. Using a mapped or IP address will not function or supported by HelpDesk.
4) After client installation please ensure that the UDL file, located in the client folder and registory key for local machine, software, Resource Dynamics, HelpDesk3, ServerDir that the paths are UNC.
