TT_GMDATAB
TT_GMDATAB All Goldmine Databases Not Showing in List
Goldmine Tech Tip
When you configure HelpDesk with Goldmine, I get to the database drop-down selection but you do not see the database you need. This database list is populated from the spfiles.dbf database in your GMBase directory. To see what databases are listed in this file, you will need to make a copy of this database in Access. The steps for doing this are as follows:
1) Open Microsoft Access and create a new blank database on your desktop (call it "spfiles.mdb").
2) Select "File" -> "Get External Data" -> "Link Tables".
3) In the "Files of type" drop-down, select "dBASE 5 (*.dbf)".
4) Browse to your GMBASE directory and select the file "spfiles.dbf" and click "Link".
5) Another window will appear asking you to select an index file. Just hit "cancel" on this window.
6) Now, open the linked table in Access and you can see what databases are listed there.
Note that we cannot provide support for Goldmine itself and, if your needed database is not listed in this table, you will have to contact a Goldmine technician for assistance with fixing this problem.
