Goldmine Contact Fields not available

Goldmine Tech Tip:


Contact mapping fields and/or center view tab contact fields show data and allow data to be edited.  However, when trying to configure these fields, there is NO fields available to select from.


Cause:

There is a 'fields table' that is provide through Goldmine's SDK for add-on products, such as Tele-Support HelpDesk.  This table does NOT need to be available for Goldmine to run.  However, if this table has been corrupted or not indexed correctly, Tele-Support HelpDesk has not way to find the fields.


In cases where users are merging databases together, this table can be effected.  It's IMPORTANT that you make a back up of your database before you make any changes.


Solution:

By indexing the table usually resolves the issue.  However, is rare cases where the table has been corrupted, will require you to contact Goldmine Support for assistance.  They will need to rebuild the table for you.
